IMF projects Nepal’s economic growth rate to remain at 2.9 percent in 2021

KATHMANDU: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Nepal’s economic growth rate will remain at 2.9 percent this year.

Releasing the World Economic Outlook, the IMF projected that Nepal’s gross domestic product (GDP) will grow by 2.9 percent that is above two point percent than the estimated figure by the World Bank (WB).

The WB had, in a report last week, projected Nepal’s economic growth rate at 2.7 percent.

Likewise, the IMF has also estimated that Nepal will grow by 4.2 percent and 5.2 percent respectively in the next two fiscal years while the inflation rate will remain at 4.2 percent this year.
