Parliament Secretariat registers letter of Prachanda-Nepal faction

KATHMANDU: The Parliament Secretariat has finally registered the letter of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) meant to inform the former about the change of the Parliamentary Party leader.

The faction had on Friday picked Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” as the leader of the PP.

Prachanda and another Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and other lawmakers of the faction had reached the Parliament Secretariat with the letter of Prachanda’s election to the PP.

However, General Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Bharatraj Gautam had earlier said that the letter could not be accepted as the NCP was formally not split and the PP leader still KP Oli.

Gautam had said that he would consult with the legal team after the Prachanda-Nepal faction urged him to register the letter.
