348,000 dozes of COVID-19 vaccine arriving today



KATHMANDU: The Nepal government is receiving additional 348,000 dozes of COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the India is providing 13 million doses of vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India in free of cost which will suffice for 20 percent of the population of Nepal.

As many as 348,000 dozes of vaccines are arriving today in the first phase. Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi informed that the first lot of COVAX will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 11:15 am.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the 20 million dozes of vaccines have been sent to 20 countries across the world in accordance with the COVAX distribution program.
