Prosperity not possible without stability and peace: Sherchan

POKHARA: Chief of Gandaki Province Amik Sherchan has said that development and prosperity were not possible without political stability and peace.

Speaking at the 39th annual general meeting of Pokhara Photographers Association Nepal here on Friday, he said that national unity and consensus were also essential for prosperity.

“All the Nepalis need to be united to protect freedom and nationality,” he said. Sherchan also lauded the role of photographers in the country to document the history and keep it alive.

On the occasion, Chief Sherchan released a bulletin ‘Focus’ published by the Association.

At the program, senior photographer Biswa Ratna Shakya was honored with the lifetime achievement award while Jaya Gurung won the Kailash Photographer of the Year award, and Kajal Shrestha, Sanesh Udash, Bilak Subedi, Manjul Shakya, Suke Ghale, and Mahendra Raj Baral were honored with the Pokhara Photography Award.
