Around 1,000 schools on the verge of closure due to pandemic: PABSON



KATHMANDU: Around 1,000 schools across the country are on the verge of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Chairman of the Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization, Nepal (PABSON), out of about 10,000 private schools from playgroup to class 12, about 1,000 (10 percent) are on the verge of closure as they remained closed for long due to coronavirus risks.

He said that the government should provide special concessions to protect the capital and employment of the schools that have reached the stage of closure.

He added that it has been decided to request the government to extend the time for loan repayment.
