NC postpones province 2 convention

JANAKPURDHAM: Nepali Congress (NC) has postponed its province convention in Province 2.

NC central member and Province 2 coordinator Ramesh Rijal organized a press conference in Janakpur on Monday and notified that the province level election has been postponed.

He informed that the election has to be postponed as the party’s local level election has not taken place in eight constituencies in the province. Rijal also regarded the ongoing Vivahpanchami celebration as one of the reasons to postpone the party’s programs in the province.

There has been no constituency convention in Sarlahi so far whereas Mahottari, Bara and Saptari districts are still to hold convention in one constituency each.

Although NC had decided to inaugurate the province convention on December, the Province 2 convention has been disturbed for various reasons. NC has already organized convention in other six provinces.

Clashes also broke out during the convention in some places. A bullet was also fired during the clash. The polling official of Mahottari had even resigned saying that he had been abducted.
