35-yr-old arrested with 1.1 mln Indian currencies



ILAM: A person has been arrested with Indian currencies in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police arrested Anup Agrawal of Suryodaya municipality, Phikkal with Rs 1.1 million Indian currencies.
Arrested Agrawal, 35, has been sent to Revenue Investigation Office, Itahari for further investigation.

The source of the Indian currencies seized is unknown said police, adding, “The seized amount was in IR 2,000, 500, 200 and 100 in denomination.”

Agrawal was intercepted while he was heading to Jhapa from in a car, Me 1 Cha 6424. It is learnt that Agrawal has been running currency exchange counter at Phikkal for a long time.
