Will hoist flag for communist parties’ unity, Prachanda says

KATHMANDU: Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has announced to hoist the flag for communist parties’ unity after holding consultations with different forces.

“Time has come for communist forces’ unity for the cause of changes and revolution to defend national interests,” the Maoist Center Chairman said while addressing the extended meeting of the party’s Palpa District Committee on Monday.

Virtually addressing the meeting, Prachanda said that there are positive talks with Baburam Bhattarai, Mohan Baidhya ‘Kiran’, Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplab’ and Upendra Yadav for the same and added that he was hopeful of the result. On the occasion, he reaffirmed his commitment to raise the voices of suppressed castes, classes and communities for the cause of national unity.

The former Prime Minister was of the view that his party was for complete proportional electoral system and the issue would be raised in the days ahead. The Maoist Center chairman also claimed that Maoists prevailed in the ideological report and party organization while forming the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

Prachanda argued that his party was responsible for the national awakening taken place in the country of late. District In-Charge of the party Tularam Gharti Magar, district committee chairman Netra Prasad Pandey and others expressed their opinions calling the party cadres and leaders to strengthen the party organization.
