KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is hearing the writ petition filed against former Prime Ministers duo Madhav Kumar Nepal and Baburam Bhattarai in the Lalita Niwas land scam on Monday.

According to SC sources, the case will be heard in the division bench of Justices Tej Bahadur KC and Nahakul Subedi.

Earlier, the hearing on the writ petition had been adjourned.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against the then ministers in the case related to the irregularities in the government land grab case in Baluwatar.

However, senior advocate Bal Krishna Neupane had filed a writ petition alleging that the decision of the cabinet was taken at the consent of the Prime Ministers duo, so then PMs should also be booked for trial.

Nepal was in the role of Prime Minister from May 2009 to February 2011 and Bhattarai from August 2011 to March 2013.
