My claim for party president stands: NC Vice President Nidhi

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi has claimed that his bid for party presidency was still on regardless of several rounds of discussions held other leaders.

Talking to the media at Janakpurdham Airport Friday, Nidhi said his candidature would continue irrespective of the days remaining for the general convention.

“Whether the general convention takes place in 14 days or 14 months from now, my candidacy for the post of president is there all the time,” he said, adding, “The general convention will be held in August despite the dispute over active membership.”

Nidhi remarked that the cabinet expansion was delayed in an attempt to listen to all partners of the alliance formed since the protest against former Prime Minister KP Oli.
