UML task force meeting concludes sans agreement; to meet tomorrow again

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the task force formed to resolve the dispute in the CPN-UML ended Tuesday without any concrete agreement.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s and Council of Ministers’ Office in Singha Durbar Tuesday afternoon decided to continue discussions Wednesday.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, one of the task force members Bhim Rawal said members floated proposals to address contentious issues in the meeting Tuesday; however, no agreement could be reached. “We have decided to continue the talks in a bid to resolve outstanding issues.”

The task force had been inactive after 23 lawmakers of the Madhav Kumar Nepal faction signed the petition to make opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister, and was only revived Monday.
