SC should issue order to make NC President Deuba next PM: Prachanda

Prachanda optimistic of the reinstatement of the parliament

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed his confidence that the House of Representatives (HoR) will be restored by the apex court.

Addressing a program organized to pay tribute to the CPN-Maoist Center Central Committee Member Mahadev Yadav, Chairman Prachanda, who arrived in Janakpurdham on Tuesday, said that Supreme Court (SC) would reinstate the HoR this time as well.

Prachanda also expressed confidence that the court should issue an order to make Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister on the basis of the signatures of 146 parliamentarians submitted to the Supreme Court.

“The fact that the parliament will not be restored means that the constitution and democracy will be jeopardized. I can’t even imagine that,” he said.

Prachanda alleged that Prime Minister KP Oli was trying to put undue pressure on the court.

“Prime Minister Oli is trying to put pressure on the Supreme Court, which proves that he is moving further towards autocracy,” he said.
