I am fully committed to national unity, integrity: DPM Mahato

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Rajendra Mahato has said that he is fully committed to national unity and integrity.

Mahato had earlier expressed his support for what he had called a “multi-national state”, which had been widely criticized.

Minister Mahato issued a statement claiming that his statement was distorted and exaggerated, stating that he was committed to national unity and integrity.

He said in a statement: “I am deeply concerned that my statement has been misrepresented and misinterpreted. I have given the statement as mentioned in Article 3 of the constitution.”

Minister Mahato also said that he would put his views in the task force formed to amend the Constitution to address their dissatisfaction.

“I am fully committed to national unity, integrity and national unity. I want to make it clear that no one else is confused about this,” he added.
