Minister Gurung urges all political parties to unite to protect lives



KATHMANDU: Minster of Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung has urged all political parties to unite against coronavirus.

Minster Gurung, also the government spokesperson, called for the political actors to cooperate with the move to fight the coronavirus infection rather than criticizing the government.

At a discussion with private media entrepreneurs at the ministry today, he said, “This is not the time to blame each other, it is the time to engage efforts to protect oneself and others.

This situation requires mutual cooperation to tackle the pandemic in a coordinated way”. The minister called for the media to disseminate awareness-raising messages and information to protect human lives.

He made it clear that the government was effortful to reduce coronavirus infection and provide treatment to the patients to the possible extent.

Also on the occasion, Chairperson of Reporters Club Rishi Dhamala and ekakaj.com editor Hari Bahadur Thapa said the media sector itself is confused regarding the coverage of content on coronavirus and demanded the government’s clear opinion to that end. RSS
