Parents of Dalit boys found dead in car refuse to receive bodies

DANG: Parents of three Dalit boys, who were found dead inside a car parked at Syauli bazaar of Tulasipur Sub-metropolitan City five days ago, have refused to receive the bodies of their children.

They said they would not receive the bodies until police arrest those involved in the incident and make them public.

The parents met with Mayor Ghanshyam Pandey of Tulasipur sub-metropolis on Wednesday and drew his attention.

On the occasion, Pandey urged the victim families to help in the investigation into the case, saying police was directed to carry out fair investigation. Mayor Pandey added truth of the incident would be revealed after the viscera report. Similarly, he expressed commitment that the sub-metropolitan city would provide Rs 25,000 each as funeral expenses to the victim families.

Chairperson of Dalit Mukti Morcha, Suraj Pariyar, said the boys were murdered. A team of police with sniffer-dogs from Banke had arrived in Dang to probe the case.

Chief of Area Police Office, Tulasipur, Shiva Bahadur Singh, said viscera had already been sent to Kathmandu to find out the cause behind the death.

Nine-year-old Sandeep Pariyar, seven-year-old Subarna Pariyar, and six-year-old Karan Pariyar of Baruwa Village were found dead inside an Indian number-plated car (RJOICC 0885) on May 2.

Police have arrested car owner Yadav Prasad Gaire and driver Padam Bahadur Basnet, and are investigating the case.
