Maoist Chair Prachanda effortful to save CM Shahi’s govt in Karnali

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said he is trying to save Maoist-led government in Karnali Province.

Addressing a program in Rukkum Tuesday, Prachanda said, “Opposition forces are trying to topple the government led by Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shah. I am holding discussions to retain CM Shahi’s government. Discussions are underway and I will join them after this program as well.”

He, however, hinted that the government could fall despite his efforts. In such case, he said the Maoists would remain in the opposition and work for the public.

“However, we will take charge again in coming days,” he assured leaders and cadres gathered in the program.
