Tribeni Youth Club cleans Subarneshwor Temple



BHAKTAPUR: Tribeni Youth Club has carried out a clean-up campaign on the premises of Subaneshwor Temple situated atop Katunje village in Suryabinayak municipality-5 on Saturday morning.

Speaking at the clean-up program, Ward Chairman of Suryabinayak Municipality-5 Raj Kumar Joshi, who was invited as the chief guest of the program, officially announced the start of the clean-up campaign.

 

“There are many works to be done in the area of sanitation in our vicinity. Tribeni Youth Club has initiated a commendable job.  I would like to formally announce the start of the of clean-up campaign,” said Chairman Joshi.

Perched on a small hillock covered in thick pine trees and other many species of flora, Subarneshwor  Temple had been established in 798 BS and it is spread in 10 ropanis of land,  shared Mukunda Prasad Luintel, the chairman of Subaneshwor Temple Management  Committee.

Talking to Khabarhub, Chiranjibi Pokharel, the secretary of Tribeni Tole Sudhar Samaj, who actively participated in today’s clean-up program, said around 18 sacks of garbage including disposable water bottles, empty packets of tobacco, biscuits, chips, paper plates and polythene bags were collected this morning.

When asked about the long-term solution to garbage problem, Pokharel said an awareness among people is a must to resolve the problem while stressing the need that NGOs and other social organizations should launch awareness campaigns that temples and public places should be kept neat and clean.

Speaking at the program, Govinda Osti, the chairman of the Tribeni Youth Club, thanked the residents of Katunje for their spontaneous participation in the clean-up campaign and expected the same kind of cooperation  in the future, too.

The clean-up campaign was organized in collaboration  with NEPSE Mac, Subarneshwor Temple Management Committee, Police Sector, Katunje and Suryabinayak municipality ward 5, said Osti.

Chaired by Osti, the program was coordinated by Nabin Maswa, the vice chairman of Tribeni Youth Club and was welcomed by Rabeena Karki, a member of the Club.

Over 70 people including Ganesh Prasad Ghimire, the chairman of Tribeni Tole Sudhar Samaj, Basu Pokharel, the ward member of Suryabinayak municipality-5, representatives of Subaneshwor Temple Management Committee among others had participated in the clean-up campaign.
