Obama couple to produce movie on Tenzing Norgay



KATHMANDU: Former US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s production company has announced the movie ‘Tenzing’.

The film will tell the story of the Nepali-Indian man Tenzing Norgay who first reached the summit of Mount Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary of New Zealand.

The production company on Friday announced six new projects in development for Netflix Inc, including a love story with a supernatural twist and a young adult thriller.

Jennifer Peedom (Sherpa), who has spent years on Everest herself, will direct from a script by Lion’s Luke Davies based on Tenzing: Hero of Everest by Ed Douglas, international media reports said.
