KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has said that they are apprehensive about how to safeguard the constitution.

Prachanda said that Prime Minister KP Oli did not have affection for the republic for long.

Speaking at an interaction program with Media Alliance on Saturday, Prachanda said that there was no majority in favor of Oli anywhere from the party to the Parliament, adding that he had taken an ‘unconstitutional’ step to dissolve the House of Representatives.

Stating that Oli’s ‘reactionary’ step should be overturned; Prachanda said that democracy is the rule of the majority.

Prachanda has said that Oli, who is in the minority, has murdered the democracy.

“This is a struggle between truth and falsehood, progress and regression,” Prachanda said.

He said that he felt guilty for not recognizing Oli’s tendency in time and said that they were moving ahead with a serious self-examination.

“Why this trend couldn’t be stopped in time. We are shocked that the Prime Minister who was nominated by our own party and proposed by myself squandered achievements of almost 70 years,” said Prachanda.
