HoR dissolution: NC’s sister organizations demonstrating across country today

KATHMANDU: The sister organizations of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) are staging demonstrations across the country on Saturday.

The sister organizations are demonstrating in all the 77 districts against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) today as per the decision of  the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the NC.

The NC has been taking to the streets after the Oli-led government dissolved the HoR on December 20 stating that it is unconstitutional, anti-democratic and against the mandate of the people.

The organizations of the party are hitting the streets against the government and the HoR dissolution across the country including the Kathmandu Valley.

According to Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary at the NC’s central party office, they have planned to form a human chain around Tundikhel as part of the demonstrations in the capital.

The demonstrators will also wear black armbands, masks and display placards during the protest.
