KATHMANDU: Police have arrested Subodh Sharma, 25, of Motihari district of India staying temporary in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 on the charge of murdering a youth with scissors.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pramesh Bista, Spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Sharma was arrested by a team deployed from the Area Police Office, Pharping on Wednesday morning.

He is accused of killing Kalam Mia, 25, of Motihari district in India..

Sharma had attacked Mia on a road near Tarun Higher Secondary School at around 10:45 pm on Tuesday. Kalam, who was injured in the attack, was rushed to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.

According to DSP Bista, Kalam died at 10:15 am while undergoing treatment.

Police arrested Sharma while he was fleeing to Birgunj after reserving a Tata Sumo.
