Student wing of NCP stages lantern rally against HoR dissolution

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) loyal to the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has staged a lantern rally against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Wednesday afternoon.

The central committee of the ANNFSU staged the lantern rally at Maitighar Mandala shouting a slogan, “We are Lighting Lanterns in Daylight, Where is the Article for the Dissolution of the HoR?” in the capital this afternoon.

The demonstration which began at Maitighar Mandala will converge into a corner meeting at New Baneshwor, said student leaders.

A CC meeting of the ANNFSU held on Tuesday had decided to go for a second phase of demonstrations against the HoR. The meeting had announced nationwide demonstrations starting Tuesday until February 11.

The announced programs include bullock cart demonstration, street theatre, showing black flags to ministers and burning effigy of the prime minister.
