Country needs monarchy: RPP Chairman Lingden

"Will unite all those who are in favor of monarchy and Hindu state within six months"



KATHMANDU: Newly-elected Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Rajendra Lingden has said that the country needs a monarchy.

Addressing a victory celebration held after being elected to the Chairperson on Sunday, Lingden said monarchy has become the need of the hour for the sake of national unity.

Lingden also announced to unite all in favor of the monarchy and Hindu state within six months.

He said that he would unite all the organizations and parties that are advocating for monarchy and a Hindu nation.

“We will build a national force by uniting all the individuals, groups, organizations and parties that are in favor of monarchy and a Hindu nation,” he said.

He also stressed the need to end corruption in the country. “It is also high time that all Nepalis united against corruption,” he added.

Chairman Lingden urged all Nepalis to move ahead united by forgetting the bitter past experiences.

Also a lawmaker to the House of Representatives, Lingden was elected the Chairman of the RPP on Sunday morning by defeating former Chairman Kamal Thapa with 200 more votes.
