Shahi elected NC Karnali Province President



KARNALI: Lalit Jung Shahi has been elected the President of the Nepali Congress (NC) Karnali Province Committee by defeating his contender Bhupendra Jung Shahi with a margin of 105 votes.

In the voting held Saturday, Lalit Jung got 422 votes while his rival Bhupendra Jung got 317 votes, according to the election committee.

Another candidate of the same post, Motiraj Bam, received just seven votes. Of the total 771 votes, 754 voters cast their vote while eight votes were declared invalid.

President-elect Lalit Jung was a member of the second Constituent Assembly (CA).
