Lumbini governor calls PA session for August 11 to discuss no-confidence motion against CM Pokhrel



KATHMANDU: Governor Amik Sherchan of Lumbini Province has called a special Provincial Assembly (PA) session on August 11 to discuss a no-confidence motion tabled against Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel.

Issuing a notice Thursday, the PA Secretariat stated that Governor Sherchan summoned a special PA session at 1 pm on August 11.

The governor called the PA session pursuant to Article 183, Clause 3 of the Constitution of Nepal.

34 lawmakers from the Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist Center, the Janata Samajwadi Party and the Rastriya Janamorcha filed a no-confidence motion against Pokhrel in the Lumbini PA on Monday. They had also demanded the governor to convene a special session of the PA to discuss the no-confidence motion.
