COVID-19: 16 districts report over 500 active cases

3 in State 1, 7 in Bagmati, 4 in Gandaki, 1 each in Lumbini and Karnali



KATHMANDU:  The number of districts having more than 500 active coronavirus cases has reached 16 in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the districts having more than 500 active cases include Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Kaski, Baglung, Gorkha, Rupandehi and Surkhet.

Similarly, there are more than 500 active infection cases in three districts of State 1, seven in Bagmati, four in Gandaki and one each in Lumbini and Karnali.

Nepal recorded a total of 4,107 new cases of coronavirus infection and 35 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry.

Meanwhile, 1,535 persons have returned home after a complete health recovery from COVID-19.
