Two arrested for withdrawing Rs 3.4 million from ATM using expired debit card



KATHMANDU: Two persons have been arrested for withdrawing money from Siddhartha Bank’s ATM machine using an expired debit card. Police have arrested Jagat Bahadur Gurung of Solukhumbu and Savitri Gurung of Parsa from near the Battkeko Pul in Kathmandu.

An ATM card and Rs 2.1 million were also seized from them, according to Police Circle, Teku. An investigation has revealed that they withdrew Rs 3.43 million from Chabahil, Kalopul, and Hattisar using the expired LLO YDS London Visa Debit Card.

Out of the amount withdrawn, Rs 1 million has been kept in the cooperative, police said.
