KATHMANDU: The Nepal government is making preparations to transfer secretaries.

Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane, who had been transferred to the ministry 17 months ago, is also being transferred, sources have said.

Up to three secretaries were transferred in other ministries since KP Sharma Oli took charge as the Prime Minister on February 15, 2018.

Only a single transfer has taken place at the Home Ministry during the period. Neupane had been transferred to the Home Ministry following the retirement of Secretary Prem Kumar Rai.

It has been learnt that preparations are underway to transfer Secretary Yadav Koirala to the Home Ministry from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Similarly, Ek Narayan Aryal, Laxman Aryal, Toyam Raya and Surya Prasad Gautam are in the fray for the appointment at Home Secretary.
