Nepal sees 5,042 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

68 deaths reported across country, Kathmandu sees 937 new cases

KATHMANDU: COVID-19 infection ratio has seen gradual decline in the country. The country recorded a total of 5,042 new cases of coronavirus (3,540 RT-PCR method and 1,502 antigen test) while 8,243 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 68 infected patients died of the virus infection in the past 24 hours. With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 7,799 in the country.

There were 723 new cases in Kathmandu, 141 in Lalitpur and 73 in Bhaktapur, making the total cases in Kathmandu Valley 937.

The Ministry further stated that total infection cases so far reached 585,100. Similarly, altogether 484,373 infected persons have recovered so far. There are 92,928 reported active cases in the country.
