Third and fourth waves of COVID-19 likely, alerts govt

KATHMANDU: The government has urged all the concerned to remain standby warning that the third and fourth waves of COVID-19 might occur following the second wave.

The Ministry of Health and Population has said that children are likely to be affected in the early presumed third and second waves of the pandemic while the elderly and the adults suffered from the first and the second waves.

Meanwhile, all the hospitals, health institutes have been urged to allocate at least 20 percent of the beds for children.

Quality Standard and Regulation Section Chief Dr. Madan Kumar Upadhyaya has said a circulation has been sent to all the hospitals to allocate at least 20 percent of beds, saying that the third and fourth waves are likely.
