KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) has drawn a conclusion that summoning of a special session of the federal parliament instead of regular session has indicated a wrong intention of the government.
Standing Committee meeting of the party held at its headquarters, Parisdanda, today came to a conclusion that the Prime Minister’s political intention and objective seemed opaque while summoning of a special session meant to show confidence in the parliament, shared party spokesperson Narayan Kaaji Shrestha.
The CPN (Maoist Center) had been raising a voice that the prime minister should show his confidence in the parliament in the context after the apex court nullified the unity of the then Nepal Communist Party and reinstated the previous CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center). “The Prime Minister did not take initiative to gain vote of confidence at the moment.
There is compulsion to call regular session of the parliament in a near future”, he said, adding, “Calling special session by ignoring the need to summon the regular one is not good”. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced to seek vote for trust in the parliament on May 10.
Likewise, the Maoist Centre termed the appointment of a person having no majority in the Lumbini Province Assembly unconstitutional. The meeting also accused the government of relieving the chiefs of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces of their posts without any reason.
