Former king and queen to attend Maha Kumbh Mela in India



KATHMANDU: Former king Gyanendra Shah and former queen Komal Shah will leave for Haridwar, India, to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela on April 8.

A press release issued by former king’s secretariat on Monday states that the former royals have been invited by the festival organizers’ special committee to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Orthodox Hindus in Nepal and India have been demanding to declare Nepal a Hindu country again.
