HURPES demands justice for Myanmar people



KATHMANDU: The Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) Nepal has urged the Myanmar Army to end suppression on the Myanmar people and has demanded justice for them.

Issuing a press statement on Monday, HURPES has asked the Mynmar rulers to end the injustice and hand over power to the elected representatives of the people.

HURPES has vowed to continue protesting against the suppression in Myanmar. It has been protesting against the ongoing repression and killings in Burma.

The Myanmar people have hit the streets against the Coup d’état of February 1, 2021.

According to General Secretary Ram Krishna Baral, HURPES will organize demonstration against the Coup d’état from 6.30 pm to 7 pm on April 7.

The participants of the protest rally will have black bandage over the mount and a candle in hand. According to HURPES, the founding president of the society Krishna Pahadi, advisor Uttam Pudasaini and other civil society leaders will participate in the demonstration.

Earlier, HURPES staged protests in front of the Burmese Embassy in Lalitpur and outside the United Nations office.
