Maoist Center to withdraw no confidence motion against CM Rai

KATHMANDU: Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) has made up its mind to withdraw no-confidence motion filed against Chief Minister of Province 1, Sher Dhan Rai on Sunday afternoon.

According to Indra Bahadur Angbo, the parliamentary party leader of Maoist Center in Province 1, they have decided to withdraw the no-confidence proposal as the latter has lost its political justification.

Leader Aangbo claimed that the party has decided to withdraw the proposal as it has lost its relevance.

After CPN-UML’s disgruntled faction withdrew its decision of voting against Chief Minister Rai, the Maoist Center’s proposal cannot draw one fourth vote for the proposal.

“The no-confidence proposal has lost its relevance when a group formerly positive towards it decided to withdraw, so we also decided to withdraw the proposal,” leader Angbo said.

The proposal will be withdrawn in today’s meeting of the Province Assembly.
