Disgruntled UML faction assemble in Dhangadhi

KATHMANDU: Disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction of ruling CPN-UML has organized a senior cadres’ meet under standing committee member Bhim Rawal in Dhangadhi on Monday.

The ruling UML cadres of Sudurpaschim are disappointed at Prime Minister and party Chair KP Oli’s decision to dismiss their leader Rawal and appoint Maoist leader Lekh Raj Bhatta as the Sudurpaschim incharge.

As a counter response against party establishment’s decision to suspend party leaders including former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Dr. Bhim Rawal, Ghanshyam Bhusal and Surendra Pandey from the party, the disgruntled faction has launched a nation-wide party restructuring campaign.

Earlier, PM Oli close leaders had warned the disgruntled faction not to launch their ‘restructuring campaign’ as that further widens the rift among the party committees.

However, leader Rawal defied their call and claimed that the ongoing campaign launched by them will further strengthen the party.

“Our restructuring campaign will help in the purification of the party and will further strengthen the organization in many ways,” leader Rawal claimed.

Nepal-Khanal faction had announced a parallel party committee in Kathmandu on Sunday.
