Four more Nepalis abroad succumb to COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Four more Nepalis lost their lives to coronavirus infection in various countries abroad in the past week, according to the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA).

Dr Sanjeev Sapkota of the Health Committee of the NRNA shared that one Nepali died in Russia and three others in Qatar. This puts the COVID-19 fatality caseload among Nepalis abroad to 349 in 23 different countries.

Similarly, new cases of flu-like infection have been reported among Nepalis in the Maldives, Malaysia, Qatar and UAE.

So far, 65,287 Nepalis staying in 54 countries across the globe have been infected with the coronavirus infection while 62,663 infected ones have recovered.

The NRNA has urged one and all to adhere to health safety measures since the COVID-19 risk was increasing in several countries including Nepal.
