Indian national arrested with 22 tolas of illegal gold from Nagdhunga



KATHMANDU: An Indian national has been arrested from Nagdhunga in Chandragiri Municipality-2 of Kathmandu along with 24 illegal gold chains weighing 22.32 tolas.

Police arrested 31-year-old Sasmal, a resident of Joypur Howrah, India.

A Tata Sumo (Na 1 Ja 7921) heading towards Kathmandu from Birgunj was found with illegal gold at a checkpoint in Nagdhunga by the Metropolitan Police Division.

Sasmal, who was riding in a Sumo, was found with a gold chain of the same weight in his bag.

According to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot, Sasmal has been sent to Revenue Investigation Department, Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur for necessary investigation and action.
