NCP Prachanda-Nepal faction trade union leader arrested in cooperative fraud case



Kathmandu: Police have arrested Pitamber Gautam, advisor of the Trade Union Federation of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) at Metropolitan Police Circle, Kathmandu, Ashok Singh said that he was arrested in a cooperative fraud case.

A team deployed from the circle arrested him from Thamel.

He was earlier sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Kathmandu District Court in a case of defrauding Dhorpatan Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited.

He was absconding after the court’s verdict on December 4 last year.

After refusing to pay the 1,28,000, the court again ruled to sentenced him to jail.
