No-confidence motion against PM Oli likely to be registered today

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction and Nepali Congress are holding their respective Parliament Party meetings on Friday.

The parties are likely to decide and register a motion of no-confidence at the Parliament Secretariat today itself, sources have claimed.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the NCP, and NC the party are likely to decide to register a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister KP Oli.

Sources have claimed that an agreement to file a no-confidence motion has already been reached between the NC and the Prachanda-Nepal faction.

“Most probably, we will try to register the no-confidence motion today itself,” a leader close to the Prachanda-Nepal faction said, adding, “If not today, we will register it on Sunday morning.”

However, an NC source said that the party is still undecided whether to join the government or not.

A meeting of NC office bearers held on Thursday to discuss the party’s future course of action ended inconclusively.

The meeting of the reinstated House of Representatives has been scheduled at 4 pm on Sunday.
