Nepali Army arrests nine ‘poachers’ with weapons



BANKE: The Nepali Army (NA) has arrested nine individuals with weapons in Banke district.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint squad of the NA and the Banke National Park arrested them on charge of poaching inside the area of national park under the ‘Operation Mahahunt-7’.

The arrested are Bhim Bahadur Khanal of Kalimati rural municipality, Salyan, Ratna Thapa Magar, Krishna Bahadur Thapa, Som Bahadur Khatri, Tek Bahadur Kunwar, Kumar Thapa, Dhan Bahadur Thapa, Dev Prasad Thapa, and Tilak Dangi of Salyan, informed Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the NA.

The NA squad has also recovered six home-made guns and its bullets concealed in the bush nearby, and handed them over to the national park office.
