158,487 immunized against COVID-19 in Nepal

KATHMANDU:  As many as 158,487 Nepali people have received COVID-19 vaccine in the country as of Thursday.

Dr Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, has informed that 158,487 people have been immunized against COVID-19 vaccine from 201 vaccine centers.

According to Gautam, 21,754 people were inoculated against COVID-19 in Province 1, 21,185 in Pradesh 2, 55,504 in Bagmati Pradesh, 17,267 in Gandaki Pradesh, 23,798 in Lumbini Pradesh, 8,072 in Karnali Pradesh and 10,907 in Sudurpaschim Pradesh.

The first phase of COVID-19 vaccination campaign will run until February 6.

Nepal had received 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the India government under grant assistance on January 27.

COVID-19 pandemic has killed 2,033 and infected 271,602 people in Nepal so far.
