90 people donate plasma

CHITWAN: The Corona Plasma Bank run by the Regional Blood Transfusion Centre, Bharatpur is providing plasma to needy COVID-19 patients.

The centre has been collected plasma from volunteers and has sent it to various places including Kathmandu, Bhairahawa and Kapilvastu.

A total of 90 persons have donated plasma in the center. Of them, 85 are male and five are female.

According to centre chief Ramesh Kanta Poudel, of the collected blood plasma, 35 are of O positive group, 25 of A positive, AB positive 10, 25 B Positive and one of AB negative.

Plasma is collected from patients who have recovered from COVID-19 as these patients have developed antibodies and proteins, which has been proved helpful for infected people to fight the infection. RSS
