NC Gen Convention: Pradhan, KC and Baniya vying for president in Bagmati



MAKWANPUR: Three candidates are vying for the post of president in Bagmati Province under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress.

Nominations of Bhimsen Das Pradhan, Jagadish Narsingh KC and Indra Baniya have been registered for the post of president at the ongoing convention in the state capital Hetauda.

Baniya is from Makwanpur, KC from Nuwakot and Pradhan is from Kathmandu.

Among those registered candidates, Pradhan is from Krishna Prasad Sitaula panel, while KC and Baniya are from Ram Chandra Poudel panel and Sher Bahadur Deuba group, respectively.

According to Keshav Prasad Kafle, the coordinator of Province Election Committee, Bagmati Pradesh, the election is scheduled to be held from 9 am.

A total of 2,137 province representatives are casting their votes to elect a new leadership.

A 91-member province working committee comprising one president, two vice presidents, two general secretaries, three deputy general secretaries will be elected through this convention.
