NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in the Nowshera sector in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, India Today has reported.
He arrived in the town to celebrate Diwali with Army personnel. Upon his arrival, he met top Army officials and other jawans, it said.
He reached the forward area of the Nowshera sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri around 10:30 am on Thursday and will visit the border outposts to celebrate Diwali with the troops.
This is not the first time that PM Modi is celebrating Diwali with Army jawans. Ever since he became the Prime Minister in 2014, PM Modi has been a regular visitor to the border outposts on Diwali, according to India Today.
Earlier, he visited states such as Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi had spent Diwali with the troops in Rajouri in 2019 as well, the report said.
