JSP-N leader Bhattarai for impeachment against CJ Rana

KATHMANDU: Federal Council Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP-N) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has suggested an impeachment against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana if the latter does not step down.

Posting a twitter message, Dr Bhattarai broke his silence stating that Chief Justice be impeached if he still remains adamant to resign from his post.

Stressing the need that the judiciary should not cover weaknesses, Bhattarai, who is also the former Prime Minister of Nepal, said the parliament should take the initiative to impeach the Chief Justice if he does not tender his resignation.

Bhattarai expressed his views through social media at a time when the political parties are mum on the issue of judicial row when all 19 Supreme Court Justices are upping the ante against Rana demanding his resignation.
