Former FIFA referee Lava Khatri passes away



KATHMANDU: KATHMANDU: Former FIFA referee Lava Khatri has passed away on Monday. He was 50 years old.

Khatri, who is also the general secretary of the Referees Association of Nepal, had slipped in the bathroom at his house on Monday morning.

According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), he was rushed to Medicity Hospital but was declared dead by doctors.

After retiring from refereeing in 2018, he had been working as a referee coach.

His last rites will be performed today itself. Khatri has a wife and a son.
