One mln doses of Covishield arriving from India before Dashain festival



KATHMANDU: The Nepal government is procuring one million doses of COVID-19 vaccines before Dashain festival.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one million doses of Covishield are arriving this week.

Earlier, the Nepal government had procured two million doses of Covishield vaccines. The remaining one million doses of vaccine are arriving this week. India had not given all the vaccines procured by Nepal as the COVID-19 cases spiked in India.

Vero Cell vaccines from China, Covishield from India, Johnson and Johnson from America and Astra Zeneca from Japan have been brought into use in Nepal to contain COVID-19.
