KATHMANDU: The government has recommended convening the parliament session from September 8.

Government Spokesperson and Law Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that a cabinet meeting held in Baluwatar Saturday decided to recommend convening both the Houses of parliament at 4 pm on September 8 (Wednesday).

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari had concluded the last parliament session on August 16 on the recommendation of the government.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba consulted with leaders of ruling parties and Speaker Agni Sapkota before recommending to convene the parliament session.
