KATHMANDU: The Jayprithvi Highway remains obstructed for the past four days after the road subsided at Jhaulek of Patan Municipality-8.

The incessant rainfall caused the depression of road, causing obstruction in transportation and inconvenience to the people.

Spokesperson at District Police Office, Baitadi, Bodhraj Ojha, informed that rainfall had disturbed the reconstruction of road. New retention wall is imperative to reopen the roadway, he added. Ojha further said it would take two more days for the reconstruction.

Nearly 100 vehicles some entering Bajhang while others leaving for Kathmandu, Dhangadhi, Dadeldhura and other parts of Baitadia remain stranded after the obstruction. The passengers have been left hassled.

Similarly, even the travelers to leave Purchaudi Municipality and Sigas Rural Municipality have been stranded after the road obstruction.
