UML’s Nepal-Khanal faction postpones CC meeting for Thursday

KATHMANDU: Nepal-Khanal faction of the CPN-UML has postponed a central committee (CC) meeting scheduled for today.

The CC meeting has been postponed for Thursday saying that  some of the CC members have not arrived in the Kathmandu Valley.

CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had called a meeting of the faction’s central committee members today.

The meeting to be held at Shankhamul in Kathmandu was supposed to discuss the current political situation, party unity and the possibility of joining the government.

The prolonged dispute in the UML has yet to be resolved with both the factions sticking to their respective stance.

While UML Chairman KP Oli has already urged leaders of the disgruntled faction, sans senior leader Nepal, to join the party, senior leader Nepal has been insisting on a “dignified” unity.
